We have a truly unique environment at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Lakes Mead and Mojave, with 181,000 surface acres and nearly 1000 miles of shoreline combine to make it the premier inland water recreation area in the west. It also happens to be one of most prolific striped bass lakes in the country. The annual take of stripers is estimated to be close to one million fish. The liberal Lake Mead Fishing limit is 20 fish per person, and can be a reality on any given day as these fish are aggressive almost all year.  In addition to the striped bass, the lake hosts a wide variety of sport fish including largemouth bass, small mouth bass, catfish, tilapia, crappie, bluegill, and red ear sunfish.

Just a few minutes from the fast pace of Las Vegas, fishing on Lakes Mead or Mojave can be a relaxing half day excursion for the novice or seasoned angler, is a great family alternative to the theme parks and perfect for convention group free time. While providing an outstanding water resource, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area protects more than one million acres of desert lands, which host a wide variety of plant and animal life. On any given day, you could see wild burros, or desert bighorn sheep, several species of water fowl and bald eagles to name a few. The sight seeing and scenery is tremendous.
